Wrap Around Care Service for Nursery and Meithrin
Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Meithrin, has been offering ‘Wrap Around Care’ for over 30 years. We have gained an excellent reputation in relation to the high standard of service we provide and have gained highly professional relationships with many of the local primary schools.
Toadhall Montessori aims to provide continuity of care to all children who are going into ‘big school’ and taking up their part time entitlement. Our ‘Wrap Around Care’ service aims to ensure a seamless transition for every child into full time education.
Toadhall Montessori Nursery and Meithrin ‘Wrap Around Care’ service is available to those children who attend state nursery, who may need childcare before and after their state nursery sessions.
Our Wrap Around Care Service fits in well with the Childcare Offer for Wales.
If your child is offered a morning place at a local state nursery for their 12.5 hours a week, part time entitlement (2.5 hours over 5 ams), your child can have breakfast at Toadhall Montessori Nursery, after which we will take you child to their state nursery school and pick them up after their session. They will come back to Toadhall Montessori Nursery for lunch and the afternoon session.
If you child is offered an afternoon place at a local state nursery for their 12.5 hours a week, part time entitlement, they have the morning with us, have their lunch and then we will take your child to their state nursery and pick them up after their afternoon session, in time for afternoon tea and end of the day activities.
Children attending Toadhall Montessori Meithrin ,which operates for mornings only, during term times, can be dropped off at Meithrin for the morning, have lunch and then be taken to their Welsh state nursery for their afternoon Foundation Learning session. Parents then collect from their child’s Welsh nursery at 3-15pm or we can collect and they can go to the nursery for the remainder of the day, until their parents pick up by 6pm.

Miss Rachael, Senior Operational Leader and Miss Abbi, Nursery Leader and Senior Keyworker for the Toadies group, along with the Leader at our Meithrin setting, work closely with Miss Autumn, Senior Leader at the Out of School Academy to provide the Wrap Around Care Service.
The children are taken to School Nursery either by walking on foot, (Hawthorn School), or by using our 6-seater Toadie Trolley Buses, or in our Toadie vehicles. We currently have a 17-seater Minibus and two 9-seater Buses, both of which are fully insured for such use. Each vehicle is kitted out with 3-point car seats for the children. Before and after each use, the vehicles, are closely inspected and a safety checklist undertaken. All vehicles have a fully stocked First Aid Box. All staff are trained in Paediatric First Aid.
The drivers of the Minibus have undertaken their full D1 licence. All other drivers have a clean driving licence. Emergency First Aid Kits are available in all vehicles.
Staff use business mobile phones and walkie talkies to stay in contact with each other during all school runs.
Registers/head counts of all children are taken before, during and after each school run.
All the staff at the Out of School Academy really know the children who they take to and from state nursery, as they see them daily when they are picking up and dropping off other children. The children also go to the Out of School Academy to have activities in the garden, which enables the Out of School Academy staff to get to know them and vice versa.
When your child commences Wrap Around Care, parents are asked to complete a Wrap Around Care Contract, which is an extension to the original Contract which is in place.
As part of the Wrap Around Care Service and Contract, your child is allocated the full day at Toadhall Montessori Nursery, throughout all 39 term time weeks and all 13 school holiday weeks and inset days.
At Meithrin our Wrap Around Care Service is for afternoons only, for 39 weeks of the year. Our Meithrin does not operate during school holidays.
