OUR AWARDS AND ASSOCIATIONS
We are proud to say that Toadhall Montessori, has to date, gained many awards, including the following:-
- We have continuously retained the Gold Standard Healthy Snack Award since 2009, including children over 5 years.
- We have gained the Silver and Gold CHaSPs Award, (Cardiff Healthy and Sustainable Pre School-Scheme)
- We have gained bronze and silver awards for Healthy Small Business Development
- We have gained Investors in People (IIP) Gold status in 2012 and 2016, and we are currently undertaking the highest IIP accolade, namely, the Platinum Level. We also obtained runner up position, in the Investors in People Business of the Year Awards, 2017.
- We have also consistently been given Level 5 Food Hygiene Ratings in each of our kitchens.
- We have gained our Safe in the Sun Award for many years.
- We are part of the Design to Smile Toothbrushing Programme
Toadhall Montessori also undertakes the ITERS and ECKERS quality assurance schemes to both maintain and enhance our high standards of early year provision for all children and their families.
In August 2023 we gained our accreditation in the Millie’s Mark Award and have successfully passed on reaccreditation, each year to date. We are the first day care setting in Wales to gain this and are very proud of our achievements. Millie’s Mark accreditation ensures that all parents have the added peace of mind that their children are being cared for by early years practitioners who have not only undertaken the 2-day Paediatric First Aid training but due to additional training and specific strategies put in place, staff feel confident in knowing exactly what to do in an emergency.

Care Inspectorate for Wales (CIW) Registration and Inspection and Reports
Toadhall Montessori Nurseries,Meithrin and Out of School Academy is registered and approved, by the Care Inspectorate for Wales, (CIW). We are inspected by CIW, to ensure our high standards are continually maintained and enhanced.
The CIW registration and inspection process, incorporates 4 Themes, namely:-
- Leadership and Management
- Environment
- Wellbeing
- Care and Development (including Learning and Teaching and Assessment)
We are also inspected against the 24 Minimum Care Standards
Since opening in 1987, Toadhall Montessori, has consistently received excellent CIW reports and has undertaken Estyn Inspections which demonstrate our high levels of Montessori care, teaching and learning, across all areas, for all children.
Our last CIW inspection was undertaken at the Nursery setting in July 2022, in which we gained the highest accolade of ‘Excellent’ ratings in all the 4 CIW Inspection Themes, namely:-
- Leadership and Management
- Environment
- Wellbeing
- Care and Development, including Learning, Teaching and Assessment
Our last Creche CIW inspection in March 2023 provided 2 ‘Excellent’ ratings in Leadership and Management and Wellbeing and 2 ‘Good ‘ratings in Environment and Care and Development.
We are extremely proud of gaining these top-level ratings, which demonstrate the high quality of our childcare provision.
We have a 3-year Business Plan which ensures our provision is both maintained and continually enhanced.
